Make eye contact
October 10, 2021One of the best ways to give a cue to another musician, whether you’re directing, conducting, or simply communicating an idea during a piece, is to make eye contact.
Look at them when you signal something to them.
Look them in the eyes.
It’ll help you communicate so much more effectively when you do this, though it does require that you know what you’re doing well enough to look away from your hands, fingers, or score.
Make eye contact when communicating with your fellow musicians.
