This is a fairly simple and straightforward question, but I think it’s one that often goes overlooked the more you learn and improve on your musical abilities.

What gets you excited about music?

I think it can be useful to ask yourself this question repeatedly at different points of your musical development.

Sometimes your answer might change. It probably will the more you learn about music. The more you learn about music and what music is out there you might get more excited by something new. That’s why it can be useful.
